ADRIANA WHITE - FAMILY COURT JUDGE, DEPT. W
Adriana Rincón White is currently a Juvenile Dependency Hearing Master presiding over cases involving the removal of children due to allegations of abuse and neglect. Adriana was appointed to this position in January 2018 after a rigorous and highly competitive process.
Adriana hears cases from the time of a child’s removal from their parent(s) until reunification, termination of parental rights, or another permanency plan is achieved. Adriana also presides over adoption hearings.
Prior to her appointment to the bench, Adriana was an attorney practicing law exclusively in the area of Family Law. Her entire career has been devoted to this area, which she considers very important and is passionate about.
Adriana was raised in Imperial, a small agricultural town in Southern California. She graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a minor in Mexican American Studies.
After college, Adriana worked at the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program where she assisted attorneys in the area of Special Education Law. Adriana graduated from California Western School of Law where she earned her juris doctor degree in just two years. During law school Adriana clerked at the California Attorney General’s Office in the Criminal Writs and Appeals Division. During her clerkship Adriana obtained special permission to argue a case to the California Supreme Court which she did so successfully and the State’s case was upheld in a unanimous decision by the Court.
Adriana moved to Las Vegas in 2003 and immediately began working in real estate. First as a real estate law instructor for Century 21, then as a real estate agent. In 2008 she switched gears and left real estate to begin her career as an attorney.
Adriana began her work in the courts years ago while still practicing law full time. First, she was appointed Judge in the District Court’s Truancy Diversion Program where she worked with students who had excessive absenteeism at Cheyenne High School, Fremont Middle School, and Cram Middle School. Then in 2014 Adriana was appointed pro tem Hearing Master in child support court, a position she held for 4 years prior to her full time appointment to the bench.
Adriana volunteered her time in the community representing clients at a reduced rate through the firm at which she was employed as an associate for 10 years. She also represented clients pro bono through the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada and earned recognition as a member of the “50 Hour Pro Bono Club.” Adriana believes it is important to give back to the community in which she lives and is raising her children.
Adriana is bilingual and speaks Spanish fluently.
Adriana is married to Gary, a school teacher, and they have two children. Adriana enjoys traveling; and spending time with her family doing various activities.
